1. XP must be rewarded for each and every COMPLETED RP session. Completed means that the player participates in the session and doesn't leave in the middle. A session is not an entire story, but a session should be at least one hour.

2. Mininum XP for a session should be 250 unless the player didn't actively participate or jumped out of char a lot, then a lower amount will be appropriate.

3. XP can be greater than 250 if the story involves a more permanent effect on Arythia, up to a maximum of 1000xp.

4. XP should also be rewarded if a player participates in a story from beginning to finish, and the story consists of more than 5 sessions. The reward for completion should be anywhere from 750-1500xp depending on the permenant effect of Arythia.

5. LP should also be rewarded to a player who completes a story, anywhere from 25-50, again depending on the lasting effect on Arythia.

6. XP can be rewarded for less than a session, at the staff member's discretion. XP for up to one-half hour can be no more than 100, and up to 15 minutes can yield no more than 25.

7. Sessions lasting more than 1 hour can yield higher XP rewards, up to 500xp at the staff member's discretion.

8. Any staff member who uses these guidelines to reward more xp than appropriate to a friend may face demotion and/or deletion.

9. If you feel your story deems a higher reward than what is outlined here then you must seek approval an elder PRIOR to beginning your story, and all rewards given for that story must be noted to the Elders. Any staff member that fails to note rewards in this case may face demotion and/or deletion.

Player Behavior in RP

1. To do a good job, you need to know who your character is--what his or her past was, etc. This makes it much easier to play the character.

2. Stay in character. Once the rp starts, focus on it, not the outside events of real life. If you need to say something out of character, make sure to either say "ooc: your_message" or say (your_message). Tells or grouptells are more appropriate channels for ooc discussion in rp than say is.

3. Participate. Get involved in what's happening. To join an rp session, say virtually nothing and merely follow the more involved players around doesn't help the rp along at all. Players who behave like this run the risk of not being invited back into the next rp session and the continuation of the story.

4. Avoid splitting up the group if you think there is only one staff member running the rp. One person cannot be in two places, so this makes everything very difficult.

5. If you want to join in the middle of an rp session, ask over ooc first. Do not expect to find the rp group, say 'let me join in' and be added to the game. First of all, that's an ooc intrusion into the rp, and secondly, the staff member running the rp session might not be able to handle more people at that time.

6. Realize that your actions in rp will affect what happens to you. If you boast of killing guards in front of Felonius, for example, don't be surprised if you get into trouble or arrested.

7. Realize that, in most cases, staff prefer to work with 1-2 people at a time. One staff member will probably not be able to handle more than that well--someone will get a little left out. If there are already 2 people involved in the rp, try not to invite another person in, particularly not without asking the staff member who's running it.

8. Find out what other players are involved in the game. Make arrangements with them for good times to rp, or the staff will simply go with whoever is there when he or she is asked for rp.

9. Exchange email addresses with the other participants in the rp so if you can't make it for some sessions, they can keep you informed of what's happening.
